Conrad Motorized Shades Installed for Chestnut Hill, MA Garden Pavilion

While Back Bay Shutter is best known for their obsession with shutters, what
many people don’t know is a good portion of the business is manually operated and motorized shades. The project shown in this video features the gorgeous Garden Pavilion in Chestnut Hill, MA. The Architect was Ivan Bereznicki of Ivan Bereznicki Associates and the designer was Susan Reddick of Susan Reddick Design of Cambridge, MA.

Susan explains how the design was made to seamlessly flow into the garden. She talks about the importance of maintaining the natural light from the outside, while also providing some sort of shading. She goes on to discuss that the solution needed to be subtle and soft so as not to detract from the architecture, and the shades needed to be hidden from view when not in use.

After talking with Steve and Bill at Back Bay Shutter, Susan realized the solution was to use Conrad Motorized Shades. The planning involved taking many things into consideration, such as door handle protrusions and molding projections. With hand-woven fabric, planning must be meticulous. There's only one chance to get it right. And this collaborative team did just that, creating a show-stopping result, which made this space not only highly functional, but also beautiful.
